IceOps Support
IceOps 1.1 helps you organize commercial ice machine site, equipment, and service visit records on your device.
Protect your records first
Before deleting the app, changing devices, or restoring a backup, preserve your existing records. IceOps has no cloud account or automatic cloud backup.
How do I create a complete backup?
- Open IceOps and choose Back up records on Home, or open Data & backups.
- Choose Export backup.
- In the iPhone or iPad share sheet, choose Save to Files and select a destination.
- Open Files and confirm the newly saved file is present. Use its filename and saved time to distinguish it from older exports.
- To validate it, select the saved file with Choose File in IceOps. Check the backup preview, then close the preview if you only want to verify it. Do not choose Replace IceOps records unless you intend to restore.
Complete backups include saved records, drafts, notes, photos, and saved PDF reports. They are not encrypted by IceOps. Keep a copy in a safe destination outside the app. File size depends on your records and attachments; size alone does not prove a backup is complete.
How does restore work?
Restore replaces current records; it does not merge them. Back up your current records first, inspect the preview, and confirm replacement only when you are ready. Complete version 3 backups are not readable by older IceOps versions. Raw recovery exports are diagnostic files, not ordinary restorable backups.
Visit drafts, photos, and reports
Use Save & close to retain an unfinished visit. A draft is separate from a completed visit. Review the app's saved status before leaving a form.
You can attach supported JPEG, PNG, or WebP images. IceOps stores optimized photo copies; it does not retain the original image through that selection flow. Use Verify saved attachment files in Data & backups to check stored photos and reports.
Choose the visits, notes, and photos to include in a PDF report, then review it. Saving a report and exporting or sharing it are separate actions. Reports are not automatically sent to customers.
Where is my data stored?
Records and attachments are stored locally. No login is required. Core recordkeeping works offline. Files you choose to export or share may be handled by Files, iCloud Drive, another app, or a recipient under their own policies. Device backups may also include app data depending on your settings.
What if saving or startup fails?
Read the error shown in the app. Do not delete IceOps or clear its storage as a first troubleshooting step. Preserve any existing backup, and contact support. We do not hold a server copy of your local records.
Does IceOps provide maintenance instructions?
Version 1.1 focuses on recordkeeping and equipment model references. It does not provide verified maintenance procedures, chemical dosing, repair instructions, or service certification. Follow the applicable manufacturer documentation and your qualified service provider's instructions. Dates and completed-visit records are entered by the user.
