IceOps Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

IceOps is published by Gerald Lastella. This policy describes the local recordkeeping, backup, and sharing features in IceOps 1.1.

Data collection

IceOps has no developer-operated account service or cloud record storage. The app does not automatically send your records to the publisher and does not include advertising trackers or analytics that collect your app activity.

Information stored on your device

IceOps stores information you choose to enter, including site names and addresses, equipment identifiers, planning dates, visit history, drafts, public-facing and internal notes, readings, follow-ups, checklist progress, photo copies, and saved PDF reports. These records are stored locally on your device.

The iOS app uses native local storage for records and attachment files. IceOps does not add its own encryption to records or exported backups. Device protection and operating-system backup behavior depend on your device and settings. Local storage does not mean app data is excluded from an operating-system backup.

Photos and PDF reports

Photo selection is initiated by you. Supported selected photos are stored as optimized copies. IceOps does not retain the original photo through that selection flow. Photos imported from a complete backup are checked as part of backup validation.

You choose report contents, including which notes and photos to include. Internal notes, older unclassified visit notes, and photos are excluded by default from report selection. Review a report before sharing it. Images and visible report contents may contain private information.

Backups, exports, and sharing

Complete backups contain saved records, including internal notes, drafts, photos, and saved PDF reports. They are not encrypted by IceOps. Exporting or sharing is initiated by you through the device's share or file-saving interface.

When you choose a destination such as Files, iCloud Drive, email, or another app, that destination may store, synchronize, or transmit the file under its own policies. A recipient may retain a copy. IceOps does not automatically send these exports to the publisher. Review destinations and recipients carefully.

Deletion and recovery

You can remove records and use the app's attachment cleanup controls. Unreferenced attachment files may remain until cleanup. The app's reset function clears its known records and attempts to remove stored attachments, reporting failures when detected.

Deleting or resetting the app does not remove exported files, recipient copies, or operating-system backups. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data can remove local records. Keep a verified external backup before doing so. The publisher cannot recover a server copy because the publisher does not receive your records automatically.

Support messages

If you email support, the publisher receives the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send and uses them to respond to your request. Avoid sending customer information or complete backups unless they are necessary and you have agreed on what to share. Email is handled by the relevant email providers.

Children

IceOps is a professional recordkeeping tool and is not directed at children. It does not provide an account-registration flow or automatically collect personal information from children.
